Galvinised Pipe Manufacturers

GI Pipes: An Overview

MKK Metals Pvt Ltd is equipped with an in-house galvanising plant that uses the finest quality mild steel to manufacture Galvanised Iron or GI pipes. We used strips of low-carbon steel coils. They are passed through a series of fin rolls to give them their distinct circular shape. A high-frequency electric current is then continuously passed across the slit edges of the strips to weld them together. After this stage, the welded steel pipes are passed through sizing sections to correct any dimensional errors and then cut into required lengths by automated cutting machines. From here, they undergo rigorous pressure testing to check for random leakages. The tested pipes are galvanised and varnished according to your specifications. MKK offers GI round sections in sizes ranging from 15mmNB to 450mmNB and thickness and length as required by the customer.

Our industry expertise and domain knowledge have kept us in the lead in both domestic and international markets. Not to forget the unmatched customer service that makes us the most preferred GI pipe manufacturers in Tamil Nadu across all industry verticals.

Advantages of GI Pipes

MKK GI Pipes comprise a collection of robust round Galvanized (GI) pipes distinguished by their deeper and longer threading. Designed for agricultural and industrial projects, these pipes are well-suited for water transportation in industrial water lines, plant piping, and irrigation. Key benefits of MKK GI Pipes include:
Resistant to Corrossion
MKK GI pipes exhibit high resistance to corrosion, making them ideal for use in areas with high humidity, coastal regions, or similar challenging environments.
Unparalleled Strength
Crafted from the finest quality structural steel, our GI pipes undergo rigorous testing and inspection, ensuring unparalleled strength and durability.
Longer Life Span
Our cutting-edge manufacturing technology ensures high quality and extended usage life of MKK GI pipes. They outlast the competition across various applications.
Crack-resistant
Our GI pipes are engineered to be crack-resistant, mitigating the development of cracks due to water pressure over time. This feature prevents leakages and potential bursts.
Cost-effective
MKK GI pipes present a cost-effective option compared to alternative materials, owing to their ready availability and easy manufacturing process.
GI Pipes: A Closer Look

Well-maintained, high quality galvanised pipes can last for atleast sixty to seventy years. However, poor quality pipes or implementation of incorrect galvanising techniques may compromise its durability. Such pipes may not last more than thirty to forty years. If your galvanised pipes are showing signs of aging or malfunctioning, it is time to replace them.

Although these pipes are ideal for residential water supply lines, there’s an impending risk of minerals in the water reacting with the galvanising material. Eventually, scales may form, clogging pipelines.

All METPRO Galv GI pipes undergo strict testing and QC routines to meet all safety and quality standards. We implement the following mandatory tests:

  • Destructive tests
  • Non – destructive test
  • Hydro Testing
  • Ultrasonic test (UT)
  • Eddy Current Test (ECT)
  • Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)
  • Positive Material Identification (PMI)
  • Mechanical Testing for Tensile Strength
  • Mechanical Testing for Impact
  • Mechanical Testing for Flattening
  • Mechanical Testing for Flaring

Our professional installation, service, and maintenance ensure a good lifespan for our METPRO GI pipes. However, their sustainability also depends on the environmental conditions under which they are used.
